kodomo ss18 fashion show

i wasn't sure if we could pull it off... but we did!  our first ever kids fashion show was a huge success and we had so much fun putting it all together.  all thanks to the help of 26 kids ages 1 to 13 who rocked the runway in some of our favorite styles for this summer.  the event was in celebration of the opening of our third location at the street in chestnut hill, and to raise money for a very worthy local cause, the b fund.  learn more about the b fund here.

the theme for the show was inspired by harajuku, a district in tokyo, japan known as the epicenter of tokyo youth’s fashion and culture. on weekends, groups of people sit in harajuku-corner wearing their wildest outfits for all to see: from monochromatic black or white to super-charged colorful clothes, wild hair, and every individual dressed in their own style.  harajuku is the best place for people watching.

here are some highlights from last weekend's show!

brody wearing a bmx graphic tee and blue denim shorts from danish brand, molo.  this brand has many great styles for boys and girls and is a favorite among our tween customers.
we paired brody's outfit with sons and daughters aviator sunglasses for a summer-ready look.

13 year old sloan was the mc of the show. she was poised, eloquent and looked beautiful wearing a dress from spanish designer motoreta.

little paxton wearing nununu's aviator overall. this is one of our favorite all-in-one casual summer outfits for boys and girls. the zipper front makes it easy for quick changes or emergency bathroom trips!

emerson looked sweet as a button in molo's dolphin print skirt and "rebel with a cause" tee.

6 year old celia surprised the crowd by galloping all the way down the runway in mini rodini's horse print dress. she had the crowd cheering and laughing and judging from this photo, she had a great time too!

eloise was our youngest model and a natural on the runway!  dressed in little creative factory's soft baby jacket in mauve paired with matching culottes.
rachel's look is perfect for a summer party!  wearing little creative factory's ballet dress paired with a tulle skirt overlay.  the tulle wrap can be worn beneath the dress for extra volume or over the dress (as we styled it) for a more dramatic effect.

cadence sporting a casual look from the animals observatory.  we love the retro feel of these racer striped shorts paired with a boxy red tee.  this look is adorable on both boys and girls!

giani also wore a casual look from  the animals observatory.  the skirt and tee can be mixed and matched.  we added a fun headband from astuyo et akiko to add some playfulness to this outfit.

we can't get enough of mini rodini this season!  andy wore mini rodini's earth tee (with an important message on front) paired with ufo pants from their space odyssey collection.

koko was straight out of a fairy tale in a dress and shrug from tutu du monde.  we love tutu du monde dresses for special occasions.  the craftsmanship that goes into each dress really make these heirloom quality to be passed on for years to come.

cashien danced his way down the runway in a move i have recently learned is called "flossing".  i actually googled the word and now truly feel like a middle aged square (is that even a term anymore?).  thank you motoreta, for making cool boys clothes worthy of flossing in. :)

we sold out of this look after mariela modeled this awesome outfit by motoreta!  the good thing is that we were able to restock (and yes, we got several requests for grown up sizes too!)  we paired motoreta's ana color block skirt with the polka dot agadulce tee for a sophisticated yet playful look.

levi looked summer-concert ready in an outfit from wolf & rita. we paired wolf & rita's sebastio "radio" graphic tee paired with blue alvaro trousers.

you can find all these looks in store and on our website.  please visit us soon!  and stay tuned for our next fashion show slotted for back to school!
xx, jasmine
