This classic story has delighted three generations of readers. Babar the Elephant is an elephant character who first appeared in 1931 in the French children's book Histoire de Babar by Jean de Brunhoff. The book is based on a tale that Brunhoff's wife, Cécile, had invented for their children.
The story of Babar, the little elephant, invokes all sorts of nostalgia for our childhoods and can now be a part of your littles lives in a brand new way!
These pieces have an heirloom quality to their wash and graphics. We imagine that they'll be passed down alongside the book series for the generations to come to enjoy. The capsule collection pulls imagery from the various adventures of Babar, such as catching butterflies and sailing. In typical Brunhoff style, the soft imagery predominantly uses the colors red, green, yellow and blue.
